Now a year old, Idealpeople’s specialist Contract Recruitment division is flourishing. We appreciate the differences between contractor attraction and recruitment and its permanent counterpart. However, by applying the principles which have been the building blocks of our success in permanent recruitment to our Contractor Service department, and have successfully supplied contractors to a number of companies across our specialist sectors – ensuring that our customers are able to deliver their projects on time, to specification, and within budget.

IT Contract recruitment is typically internet-focussed – the vast majority is centred around on-line advertising and database search. Given that only 15% of all IT Professionals are actively engaged in a job search at any one time, and that only 27% of those find a position through the internet, this one-dimensional approach rules out 96% of the possible candidate marketplace. Given the demanding requirements that we work on every day, we know that our customers would not be happy with interviewing candidates from just 4% of the talent pool. That’s why we take Contractor sourcing seriously: using a combination on on-line sourcing, headhunting, fuzzy logic, networking and competitor profiling to ensure that the candidates we present are the best of the entire talent pool.

By incorporating into this our in-depth knowledge of several key technology verticals and our industry-leading technical and competency screening techniques, our customers are able to benefit from a targetted short-list of highly-skilled, deeply-screened candidates able to deliver what required on-time, to specification and within budget – even when they look for demanding, rare technical expertise.
